What’s in a Marriage?

In honor of The Wedding at the end of the week–the one across the pond– I am going to post marriage and wedding cartoons all this week. I’ve done a lot, frankly. Why go searching for ideas when there is a font of material right in my own home? These cartoons are in my book When Do They Serve The Wine, and the book I did with my husband (New Yorker cartoonist, Michael Maslin), Cartoon Marriage.  I’ve been married for twenty three years, and the institution never fails to provide laughs. Some might say that’s why we’re still married.

Mind you,  it’s not because I laugh at all my husband’s jokes, either.

With so much “bad” news swirling around us in the media, it’s refreshing to think that some of us are contemplating — and even embarking on — such a positive step as committing the rest of your life to another. It’s the epitome of a “fresh page” and it’s so HOPEFUL!

  2. Well put! Sounds like you are getting married!
