The Republican Party is struggling. Not only did they lose seats in the Congress and lost the Presidential election, they did not do well with the Hispanic vote, the young vote and the female vote. They seem out of touch, not able to keep up with the times. For example, John McCain seems to be stuck in a rut, obsessing about the Bengazi attack. I think he is looking for the lost GOP raison-d’etre: leadership in foreign policy. There was a day way back when when some Americans looked to the Republican Party for answers in foreign policy. In fact, there were decades when the GOP was the dominant party. No longer. The GOP that we have known recently is about to go extinct, just like the dinosaurs.
